CONGOLESE DIPLOMACY

In general, the diplomatic and even political plan of the Congo is peculiar, because guided by the regime of Mobutu guided from the start in the wake of the cold war, by favoring close ties with the former Belgian colonial power.

For President Mobutu, Congolese diplomacy has remained guided by the principle or actions of good neighborliness and openness to the rest of the world with a position of non-alignment.

For President Laurent Désiré Kabila, the objective of diplomacy was the right choice of allies, a dynamic cooperation based on a win-win logic to support self-defense and development.

For President Joseph Kabila Kabange, diplomacy was essentially a diplomacy of development in order to improve autonomy and self-sufficiency in the sectors of the nation.

Currently, diplomacy, it is certainly development but also with an objective of improving the image of the D.R. Congo and positioning the latter in the orbit of the international sphere while favoring good neighborliness. This is the diplomatic approach of H.E.M. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Republic and Head of State, to get the country out of isolation.

LA DIPLOMATIE CONGOLAISE

D’une manière générale, le schéma diplomatique et même politique du Congo a été particulier, parce que guidé par le régime de Mobutu inscrit dès le départ dans le sillage de la guerre froide, en privilégiant les liens étroits avec l’ancienne puissance coloniale Belge.

Pour le Président Mobutu, la diplomatie congolaise est restée guidée par le principe ou les actions du bon voisinage et l’ouverture au reste du monde avec comme position de non alignement.

Pour le Président Laurent Désiré Kabila, la diplomatie avait pour objectif le bon choix des alliés, une coopération dynamique basée sur une logique gagnant-gagnant pour soutenir l’auto-défense et le développement.

Pour le Président Joseph Kabila Kabange, la diplomatie était essentiellement une diplomatie de développement afin d’améliorer l’autonomie et l’autosuffisance dans les secteurs de la nation.

Actuellement, la diplomatie, elle est certes de développement mais aussi avec un objectif d’améliorer l’image de la R.D.Congo et positionner cette dernière sur l’orbite de la sphère internationale tout en privilégiant le bon voisinage. Telle est l’approche diplomatique de S.E.M. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, Président de la République et Chef de l’Etat, pour sortir le pays dans un système d’isolement.
